[He blinks, seeing her on the bench and approaches, overhearing her words. He wears a small but friendly smile.]

…Messed up? Well, what’s on your mind, dear?

[Oh, company! She should probably sit like a lady in that case, so she leans upright and crosses her legs at the ankles.]

It’s kind of a long story, you know?

[Her bird companion chirps in agreement.]

— Basically, my president is really, really terrible, and my people are angry all the time now.

[… Actually, that was a pretty short story.]

[His smile turned into a sad one as he sat next to her.]

Ah, I feared that was the case. I had been a bit worried about you. Things can get terribly difficult.

[He sighed, leaning back and looking to the sky.]

But, things will get better, eventually. The important thing is to never lose sight of that, what is the phrase…”light at the end of the tunnel”.

[He turns back to look at her, glancing at the bird.]

I know you can do it.

[She heaves a sigh and reclines against a park bench, extending a hand so that her small yellow-and-blue bird can land atop her fingertips.]

Everything’s pretty messed up right now…

[He blinks, seeing her on the bench and approaches, overhearing her words. He wears a small but friendly smile.]

…Messed up? Well, what’s on your mind, dear?

The Elephant and the Dragon

have some Han China and Mughal India <3 think I’m gonna draw a longer piece about empires!

I didn’t draw Mughal India with the bindi because most of the Mughal emperors were Muslim, and from what I understand the bindi was associated with Hinduism (and would thus be contrary to their faith).

Hello, hello. Is someone—or rather, some people—bothering you?

No, no. It just seems as though the world is supposed to end every few years, now.

Ah, yes. Today is the Norse one, right?

Watch out, Anh. We might have more than the usual European devils coming after us today.

Namaste, Francis.

You say that almost as if you were expecting me.

Salut, AjayIt has been some time, non? I trust you are doing well—

I never really know who to expect, with people dropping in and out all the time. Might as well approach it with a ‘I was bound to see you eventually’ way!

Hanji, It has been some time. It honestly depends on how you define “doing well”, but I suppose I am dealing with things the best I can.

You seem to be your usual self, so I can only assume you are doing well, hm?
